Mackenzie is the new kid at school shortly before the zombie apocalypse ends school all together. She integrates herself into the friend group post apocalypse quickly and gets especially close with Ramon. She is an artist primarily focusing on paintings of sea creatures, and she is great at gardening. This pays off when shit hits the fan, because she is able to grow food for the group. Mackenzie left her old school due to bullying and rumors about her family. Following her move she suffers from a lot of self-doubt, and she struggles to trust others, further complicating the growing feelings between her and Ramon.
